Shopping around online for a human to trust can be a very strange experience, and I know that starting this journey can feel overwhelming! That's why I prioritize being a human first, and a therapist second. First, we'll cover your life history so therapy is individualized to your own lived experiences. I utilize creativity, humor, art, self-reflection, tailored interventions, and education to promote the growth you're seeking. Together, we'll look beyond symptoms to examine your relationships to the people and things around you. I believe knowledge is a transformative tool that can help us update how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world.

I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Illinois, and I am also a professor at The Chicago School in the Forensic Psychology Department. I specialize in working with adults who have experienced trauma, sexual assault/abuse, relationship issues, and family conflict. I also have expertise working with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, stress, DV/IPV, academic or college struggles, life transitions, and grief. I proudly serve the LGBTQ+ community. When working with BIPOC, I am mindful of my white identity.

Trust and safety is the foundation for healing. That's why you and I will build a real, honest, meaningful relationship. We'll take turns leading or directing sessions, based on what is going on in your life. In session, I am curious, reflective, interactive, and when needed - challenging. I also help connect my clients to other support services they may need. Together, we will look at the external factors or systemic barriers that might be impacting your life. You deserve support while you navigate life’s twists and turns. Therapy is an investment in the longest and most important relationship you will ever have - the one with yourself!
